The short version
Fiverr.ie collects two kinds of data: anonymised analytics (via a self-hosted Matomo install; no cookies unless you explicitly opt in), and the information you voluntarily submit through our enquiry form (name, email, county, service needed, budget, timeline, message). We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, shortlist Irish freelancers for you, and maintain records for VAT and business purposes. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with advertisers, marketplaces, or third parties, except where required by law.
Who is the data controller?
Fiverr.ie is operated as a sole trader. For GDPR purposes, the data controller is the site operator, contactable at info@fiverr.ie.
What we collect
- Enquiry form data: Name, email, county, service needed, budget range, timeline, and message text. Also your IP address and browser user-agent at the moment of submission, purely for anti-spam purposes.
- Analytics data (Matomo): Page URL, referrer URL, browser and device, rough geography at country/region level, and time on page. Served from our own server at mana.ie/stats; no data leaves our infrastructure. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honoured.
- Email correspondence: If you email us directly, we keep the email thread for our records.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR Article 6)
- Enquiry-form submissions: legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated, plus contract-formation preparation (pre-contractual steps at your request).
- Analytics: legitimate interest in understanding anonymised site usage to improve the site.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry data: 24 months from submission. After that, we delete or anonymise. If your enquiry turns into ongoing business, standard commercial records (invoices, contracts) are retained for 7 years for Revenue purposes.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregated form only after 14 months.
- Email threads: 36 months.
Who we share it with
When we shortlist freelancers for your enquiry, we share only the relevant details of your brief (county, service, budget range, timeline, message) with two or three Irish freelancers. We do not share your name or email until you've chosen to engage with a freelancer directly. You remain in control of whether to share contact details with any of them.
Technical service providers: our email goes through our hosting provider Webworld.ie (based in Ireland). Matomo runs on our own infrastructure.
We do NOT share your data with Fiverr.com / Fiverr International Ltd., or any other marketplace, affiliate, or advertiser.
Your GDPR rights
You have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct it if it's wrong; delete it; restrict processing; object to processing; data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@fiverr.ie. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the "last updated" date above and note the change in plain English if we change anything material. Existing data continues to be handled under the policy in force at the time you submitted it.
